AS Rally
An evolution of the successful ASL connector, the ASR has been created with direct input from the World Rally Championship. With a wider coupling ring with more knurling, this new plug enables mechanics to get better grip to connect and disconnect, whilst wearing gloves in severe environments (snow, ice and mud).
Features
- Ultra Compact design
- Cable accommodation – 22, 24, 26 & 28 AWG
- Positive locking coupling mechanism
- Conductive black zinc finish
- Interfacial and wire sealing
- Scoop-proof interface with shell to shell grounding
- Boot termination feature
- In-line and two hole mounting styles
- Environmentally sealed to IP67
- Gold-plated crimp contacts
- 6 Keyway orientations
- Fully intermateable with Micro HE
- PCB option as standard – 2 contact length variants; standard and short; contact sales office for specifications
Benefits
- Minimum space envelope
- Enhanced coupling ring provides better grip in poor conditions
- 7.8mm shorter than Micro HE (mated pair)
- No need for backshells for boot termination
- High quality plating enhances durability and appearance of connector
- Visual indication of keyway orientation of connector
- Uses standard crimp tooling
- Suitable for blind mating

Wire Sealing
Connector rear sealing grommet is designed to seal on a wire having an
overall insulation diameter within the following range:
Min (mm) – 0.60
Max (mm) – 1.37
Dielectric Withstand Voltage
1000 Volts ac rms
Mechanical
Current rating: 3 amps
Conductor diameter: 0.790mm (0.031in) max
Temperature range: –55°C to +170°C*
*The upper limit is the maximum internal hot-spot temperature resulting from the combination of ambient temperature and heating due to current.
Vibration
Tested to exceed: Dynamic test - random on random 60g RMS in 3 axis.
Endurance test - random 57g RMS in 2 axis for 8 hours each axis.
Sinusoidal resonance to over 75g.
